An elderly friend recounted an heart-warming experience she had had this week. She had walked into the local town when she heard thunder and realised that a downpour was on its way. She was ill-prepared and there was nowhere to shelter. She was taken aback when a lady in a house she was passing opened her door and insisted that my friend should seek shelter with her.
In a world where we hear so much of trouble and bitterness, it is good to know that many people still consider others. There is much to be gained from the kindness of strangers. May we be aware of times when we can offer such kindness.
