Edith Piaf famously regretted nothing. This defiance is in many ways admirable; it is, however, difficult to achieve. As we grow older it is easy to recall embarrassing moments with the same red face they caused when they first happened. We know it does no good as the past cannot be changed.
Perhaps we should understand that the errors we have made have contributed to our personal development. Hopefully we have learned from them and can be less assertive and confrontational and more considerate and understanding. Age forces us to slow down and be thankful for the good each day brings. Long may it continue.
