Heavenly Father, as the temperature mounts and brings another heat wave, may your cooling presence comfort those who are particularly vulnerable. We think of the elderly, young children, people in hospitals or homes where control of the temperature is difficult.

We think of the people of Venezuela, coping with primitive conditions after the earthquakes and of those whose lives are disrupted by war. Be close to the relief workers and give them the strength to face the challenges that each day brings. Keep them safe as they fulfil the caring roles to which they have been called.
