Heavenly Father, thank you for endowing us with the gift of memory. This enables us to remember the many and varied experiences that we have had and the vast number of people who have been important parts of our lives. Thank you also for the blessing of family love and the way in which we see echoes of those we have loved in their descendants with whom we share hope for the future.

However, we are aware that many lives are blighted by the deterioration of the ability to remember. We ask your blessing on all who care for loved ones who become confused and bewildered and may no longer remember them. Strengthen the agencies which support sufferers and carers and inspire the scientists who seek new ways to restore failing faculties.
