Father God, at this time when we hear of so many innocent people across the world who are the victims of war and greed, we seek your guidance as to how to respond. Help us to be alert to local, national and international initiatives to support those whose lives are being wrecked by the actions of powerful political leaders. Help us also to find ways of letting despairing individuals know that we are thinking of them and bringing their needs before you.

We think also of the newly-bereaved, where the pain of loss is severe. May we bring them the comfort of your everlasting love.
