Creator God, we thank you for the wonders of the natural world. we see that spring blossom has been replaced by developing fruits and our spirits are lifted by the lengthening of daylight and the bright sunny days. We are aware, however, of the need for rain to sustain the plants and enable the set fruits to develop fully. We seek steady rather than heavy rain so that crops may be nurtured rather than flooded.
Our thoughts go out to the farming community which is so reliant on temperate weather conditions and we trust that their efforts will be rewarded. We also remember communities in other lands where rains fail and even subsistence farming is impossible. Help us to see oirselves as a global community and to move towards a fairer sharing of resources
